Autumn is here – and that means . . . Aylsham Food Festival!

Time to celebrate everything that makes our historic market town such a fantastic foodie destination.

This October, we’re marking 21 years of Aylsham as a Slow Food and Cittaslow town.

With restaurants, cosy cafés, cocktail and wine bars, and craft beer pubs, it’s no wonder Aylsham has earned its reputation as Norfolk’s Rural Capital of Food.

So come and join us for three mouth-watering days – Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October – as we celebrate our wonderful local hospitality businesses and the farmers, growers and producers who work tirelessly throughout the year to put great food on our tables.

Tickets are still available for two special festival events:

The showcase Festival Dinner launches the event on Friday when Aylsham High School students will prepare, cook and serve a gourmet dinner using locally sourced ingredients, all under the watchful eye of some of Norfolk’s leading chefs. A brilliant celebration of local food and young talent.

The Big Slow Brunch is the perfect way to round off the weekend on Sunday morning. Sit back, relax and tuck into a freshly cooked Full English fry-up, prepared and served by members of Slow Food – or choose a delicious Continental breakfast.

Tickets are non-refundable.

Friday 2 Oct

Country Market, Town Hall, 8.30 – 2pm. Free entry.

Festival Dinner at Aylsham High School, 6pm. Tickets £25pp. Bring your own drinks. This includes musical entertainment by local favourite Bertie Bow on the violin performing a selection from her Poppyland show.

Saturday 3 Oct

Food & Craft Market, 8.30 – 2pm. More stalls in the Town Hall with face painter Rose Weaver, of CrazySkins and Bertie Bow in the Market Place.

Wine tasting with choice cheeses at the Frienship Hall, 7pm. Tickets can be purchased on the Heritage Centre website: www.aylshamheritage.com

Sunday 4 Oct

The Big Slow Brunch – 10.30 to 12.30pm in the Town Hall. Freshly cooked traditional Full English and/or Continental buffet. Tickets £13pp – £6.50for children under 12.
